There are 12 primary judges (some judges are still being selected) - 5 for the Americas, 4 four EMEA and 4 for Asia/Australia. They are responsible for the selection of the semi-finalists and the finalists in all three regions. The process is simple. Candidates brief the judges and demo their products, the primary judges decide who moves on in the competition. They are also assessing a number of non-public factors in their decisions.
